Super Llama: Llamas are awesome! (10)
My Bio
Hi! My name's Anita. I'm a teacher in Northern California (yayyy for teaching!). I'm primarily a hobbyist hoping to get better, although I have illustrated a few children's books for storyteller Maureen Barry. Married with one teenaged son. The only other noteworthy thing about me is that I'm a walking, talking contradiction, so don't take anything I say seriously. It'll probably change!

Favourite Visual Artist
too many to mention. Love the Golden Age illustrators, Pre-Raphaelites, etc. Modern favorites include Greg Manchess, Alan Lee, Ian MacCaig, Terri Windling, and many more
Favourite Movies
Lord of the Rings trilogy, Live action Peter Pan
Favourite Bands / Musical Artists
I like all types of music
Favourite Games
Final Fantasy 7, 9,12, and Vagrant Story
Favourite Gaming Platform
Playstation 3
Tools of the Trade
pencil, color pencil, watercolor, paperclay, and polymer clay

It's the end of the year, and time for reflection once again.  Strangely enough, the end of this year has not put me in a spiral of self-recriminations for not having done enough or made enough art, or made enough progress on my art, etc. etc.  I guess it doesn't really matter what the "enough" is...it simply will never be enough, and for some reason, at the end of this year, it doesn't matter to me.  It's both a scary and liberating feeling.  With the winter break from work, I've been more productive art-wise than I've been in ages.  I feel hopeful for the future, and if all continues, then not only will I have new and better artwork coming

Well, I like taking nature photos, even though I'm really crappy at photography.  Thank God for point and shoot cameras.  Eventually, I'd like to learn how to get the most out of it, but in the meantime, if I happen to take any good reference photos, I'll upload them here and they will be free to use for any purpose (As long as it's listed as a resource/stock!)  I'll warn you in advance, I have a thing for trees, so expect the majority of pictures to be tree related. I hope you guys find the photos useful.  Cheers!

Thank you for the fav Torchic by mixlou
Just wanted to say that your Holiday Cards were amazing!! Beautifully done!!
I'm still not dead, just working my butt off at a new job with a steep learning curve!
I'm not really dead, just been really busy with work, and trying to find a permanent teaching position. I promise that all those WIPs I started will eventually get finished...sometime...soon...maybe.
Trying to get latest submission to IF done. I really need to learn to work faster!
Thanks yelloranger! I don't upload as much as I like, but my goal this year is to submit something at least 2x a month. I have 4 large sketches I'm trying to complete, but until Xmas break, I'll probably only be uploading smaller stuff, and images done for Illustration Friday. I hope you stay tuned!

P.S.
If you see something that looks "off" or just plain wrong, let me know about that too! I'm trying to get better, so although it's a blow to my ego, I still appreciate when people point out what's wrong as well.
wow, you're awesome *____* hehe always waiting for all your drawings~
